Dr. Jyoti Zongluju, Renowned Indian Advocate, Appointed as International President of the World Human Rights Research Council WHRRC General Cell [F]

The World Human Rights Research Council (WHRRC) has appointed renowned Indian Advocate, criminal lawyer, international speaker, and human rights activist Dr. Jyoti Zongluju as the International President of the WHRRC General Cell [F]. This appointment is considered a significant step towards strengthening women’s leadership, human rights protection, social justice, and global legal awareness at the international level.

Popularly known as “The Legal Lady,” Dr. Jyoti Zongluju is widely respected for her dedicated work in criminal law, women empowerment, child protection, and social justice. She is actively practicing before the Supreme Court of India and has established herself as one of the leading legal and human rights voices in the country.

Dr. Zongluju holds a B.A. LL.B and LL.M. in Criminal Law from Delhi and has pursued advanced certifications in Child Protection, Cyber Law, and Women Empowerment. She has also completed a diploma course from Harvard University, further strengthening her expertise in legal and human rights studies.

Apart from her legal practice, Dr. Zongluju serves as Legal Advisor to several organizations and NGOs, including Helping Hands NGO, and has contributed as a Guest Lecturer with the Delhi Police Department. She is also associated with the North-East Chamber of Commerce and Drugs Free Arunachal, where she actively works towards social awareness, youth empowerment, and community development initiatives.

She is the Founder of the “Empowershe Welfare Foundation Organization,” an initiative dedicated to empowering women, youth, and children through education, leadership development, legal awareness, and community support programs. Her continuous efforts towards justice, equality, and human dignity have positively impacted countless lives.

At the international level, Dr. Zongluju has represented India as a speaker and panelist at various global conferences, leadership summits, and academic platforms. She was invited as a panelist at the World Youth Leadership Conference 2025 held in Dubai, UAE, on the theme “Building Inclusive Societies: Youth Leadership in Promoting Equality and Diversity.”

She was also honoured by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Vietnam, with a Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding contribution as an International Speaker on the topic “Women, Borders, and Breakthroughs: Expanding Access Through Global Education Diplomacy” during the Global Academic and Cultural Exchange Program 2025.

Over the years, Dr. Jyoti Zongluju has received several prestigious recognitions for her contribution to society, including the North-East Unsung Heroes Award 2019 and the India Inspirational Women Award 2020. She is also a distinguished member of the International Council of Juris, London, UK, and serves on the Disciplinary Panel Counsel of the National Anti Doping Agency of India.
